A whole post about Kristen Stewart? Who would have though? Stewart has been making her rounds at Paris couture week, spotted earlier at Chanel and most recently at Zuhair Murad show. Despite being the face of Balenciaga Stewart seems to be opting for a lot of Murad's pieces over the past year, allowing her to solidify her fashion status. The evolution from Converse shoes and plaid to exquisite gowns and jumpers is really helping to keep her name on the best dressed list. Now that her and Robert Pattinson are no longer together hopefully she starts to put more time into her fashion game; and please Kristen, for me, run a brush through your hair, I promise it will work wonders!

If you live somewhere other than the face of the earth you are very aware that yesterday was America's Independence Day - a time celebrated by taking the day off work, grabbing a couple of beers and heading to the beach to catch fireworks. And maybe, just maybe, you were lucky enough to be at the same beach as model Heidi Klum pictured above frolicking in the water - she may be German, but I don't think anyone will complain about her act of patriotism.

Kate Middleton takes her high tea in high fashion, and since her style status was solidified on the day of her wedding in Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen that status has grown along with her pregnancy (both literally & figuratively). The Duchess of Cambridge seems to have an affinity towards beautiful long topper coats (my favorite!), and she wears them like a queen. I love that there's  a breadth in colour; strong jewel tones and checks; as well as silhouettes that flattered her growing baby bump. I can't wait to see how her style will transition as she enters motherhood in the coming weeks, and of course her little prince or princess!

It's hard to start thinking about cold weather again, but with the amazing couture coats that have been coming down the catwalk it really makes you wish the mercury would drop a centigrade or two. I've always had a big obsession with coats - leather, trench, ski, men's wear inspired - but this year it looks like I'll be needing to add some VOLUME to my collection. These are a handful of my favorites that came down the runway this past week, and I must admit that as completely unpractical as it may be (hello, couture) I really need to get my steal myself the beautiful Ulyana Sergeenko
jacket - it will be perfect if I ever decide to run off to the north pole! If you're looking for something that you can actually get some use out of but still look high fashion I'd cast my vote for Viktor & Rolf. What's your top coat pick from Paris?

It was a murder-mystery Wednesday for the Valentino fall couture collection, and it may have to do with the fact that I currently can't get enough of the BBC Sherlock series, but the couture installment sure seems to scream sexy detective to me! Capes, heavy twill fabrics, checks and somber colours were the key ingredients in making this collection a success, of course that's what my deductive reasoning tells me.

{obsessed: the miroslava duma edition}

miroslava duma @ dior fall couture

My current obsession is Miroslava Duma , former Harper's Bazaar Russia editor, current freelance writer, and all-together fashion aficionado. It's safe to say that I spend most, if not all of my spare time on the internet perusing the latest collections, reading endless blogs, and pretending I can afford to live the fashionably fabulous life I've imagined for myself. Miroslava's blog follows her oh-so fashionable life through photos; a picture diary of chic bliss. A lot of websites are talking about Miroslava as the new 'it' fashion socialite, and we couldn't agree more.

{ellie saab, couture fall 2013}

I really do love couture season! Its a time where all my favorite designers unveil looks that have secretly been formulating in my closet's imagination since the last couture unveilings. I really do wish I was important enough to go to fancy events where wearing extravagant ensembles like these were both welcomed and expected - I don't think my small gray cubicle would ever be able to contain such lavish intricacies. Enter: Ellie Saab . The designer embodies femininity; opting for finer fabrics and highly detailed embroidery the looks speak to an old Hollywood revelry. While keeping with typical champagne and jewel colouring (see spring 2013 here)what really popped in this collection was the bold red looks that came down the catwalk at the top of the show. A-line, long and knee-length dresses, chic signature sleeves, and even POCKETS! Love, love them all!!

I believe the fat lady has sang, because I would have never imaged that in my first week of blogging I would find anything Kristen Stewart wore interesting enough to talk about, but I hate to admit it, i'm officially one of her biggest fans. Since I saw her in Zuhair Murad it seems as if she's really come a long way. I think that she really pulls off the dishevelled femme fatale look - I just want her to come off the back of motorcycle being driven by Jason Statham...and then leave so that theres enough room for me on the back of that bike.

another scowl for good measure.

A barely unrecognizable Nicole Kidman is the new face for Jimmy Choo's Fall/Autumn advertising campaign. Shot by Mikael Jansson the images seek to explore themes of film noir and Hitchcock heroines. In discussing the project Kidman said that "[She] really enjoyed being able to play a role that was strong, sexy and in control." How do you think Kidman does in portraying the seductive protagonist? Are you a fan of her new look?

{naomi for versace}

This past weekend the queen of supermodels, Naomi Campbell, did what she does best as she strutted herself down the catwalk at the Atelier Versace Fall couture show. The star studded show, which had front row onlookers Uma Thurman, Emma Roberts, and Zachary Quinto, embodied the black-and-white photography of the thirties; an homage to Horst and Man Ray as Versace would later confirm at the cocktail party that followed the show. The intricacies in the embroidery are undoubtable, illusionary necklines and crystal hooks and eyes, however the theme of the show lay elsewhere. In addition to the barely-there jacket worn by Naomi to open the show, the collection followed a similar suit, it was all about skin! Versace's collection fancied mid-drifts, high-thighs and exposed chests, and what wasn't exposed was ordained in in lavish leathers and furs - Old Hollywood glam with a provocative twist.
